Age and other factors : Age is one of the most common factors responsible for tyre deterioration. The quality of driving, natural age of the tyre, storage conditions, weather factors, frequency of driving, roads on which the car is driven etc., contribute to the deterioration of a tyre. An old tyre has deteriorated rubber, it loses grip, and makes driving difficult and unsafe.

Wear : There could be different types of wear, such as heel and toe wear, centre wear, one-sided wear, sidewall wear etc. Tyres with low tread are likely to get punctures and sudden blowouts. It is highly unsafe to drive with tyres that have gotten bald, worn and low tread.

Too many vibrations while driving through an expressway can also be a sign of tyre issues. There could be several other signs too. For example, if you feel a difference in driving (such as it takes the car longer to stop when you apply brakes), these could also be signs of potential issues with the car tyre. Simply put, tyre tread depth changes, irregular tread wear, punctures, the difference in driving etc. are some of the signs communicating that your tyre may need to be replaced soon.
